 In an effort to be more mindful in all areas of my life I decided to create the Change 3 Challenge!

What is the Change 3 Challenge and when does it start and end?

The Change 3 Challenge is a call to look honestly at your life and find 3 things or habits you want to change. After you choose which 3 things to change, you make a plan on how you are going to do that. Then you announce it somewhere public (here in the comments, on our Facebook page, on your Facebook page, on your blog, etc.). This step makes you accountable (because honestly how many times do we say we are going to do something and then not really do it) and helps provide some incentive to carry through with your plan. If you use this blog post or our Facebook page you will also get some extra encouragement from myself and our readers. This is a way to partner up with others and be more mindful in changing for the better and developing good habits.

We kick off this fun challenge on October 1st! The end date for this challenge is November 1st!

You can jump in at any time!! My hope is that if you work hard on changing these things for one month (or however long you participate with us) that your changes will become permanent habits!

Why am I doing this? And why did I ask my friends to do this with me?

I am doing this because I have fallen into some bad habits and I need to replace them with good habits. I am really good at the talking part of changing but sometimes I fall short on the actual “walking” part of changing (you know I can talk the talk, but don’t walk the walk). So this is my way of helping myself to change, and hopefully helping others at the same time! (A real win-win!)

I am partnering with some good friends of mine to help me with my accountability, so you will get to watch them go through their Change 3 Challenge as well. They are wonderful women who will be blogging/vlogging about their own Change 3 Challenges and working to help encourage and help each other (and you!) along the way!

What are my 3 things?

This was really hard for me to decide. I have a long list of things I want to try to really mindfully change for the better. After some prayer and really being honest with myself I came up with these 3 things.

1. Drink more water everyday this one was a no brainer for me. I know I will feel so much better if I just make this little change!

2. Drink a green smoothie everyday– this is a good way for me to accomplish 2 things at once. I am the worst about eating breakfast and sometimes it gets to be 12 or 1 and I realize I have not eaten. Of course then I am starving and over eat. By the way doing this is HORRIBLE for your metabolism. This also makes sure I am putting in some really great foods into my body that I might not normally eat. Everyone needs a good nutritional boost everyday!

3. Exercise twice a week. This is  the one that scares me to post. I have failed miserably at this over and over again. It is the one thing I know I need to work into my life but just have not been able to.  I wanted to pick something else but I was talking to my friend Kristi ( the one from above) and I told her about not wanting to pick that one.  Just like a good friend instead of giving me an excuse, she reminded me that so many moms struggle with this.This is a challenge and one of my goals was to be able to encourage everyone to pick something and really conquer it. How can I do that if I am not willing to?  This is the hardest thing in my challenge for me, so this is where I am asking for the most help!!

Ok so I have shared mine- I cant wait to start reading your blogs and everything tomorrow and see what your 3 things are!

  1. This will tie in nicely with Motivational Monday. It only takes 30 days to change a habit so this is a really good idea – I keep trying to drink more water, I will have to think of 2 more things in order to join in.

    • Yes! Come link up with us!! One of my things is drink more water too. I know I have not been the best at that and I really need to change that. I feel so much better when I drink water. This seems to be a very common bad habit, I have had several moms tell me one thing they want to change is their water drinking habits. Maybe we can all come up with some practical ways to implement that!

    • I have a LONG list too! But with 3 kids,a blog,a house to take care of, and just life in general I thought I should just start with 3 . It seemed a lot more manageable than 2500!lol! Whenever you write your post about it just link up in the first section and I’ll be there to cheer you on!

  4. I’ve signed up! I’ve been working on the “From Frumps to Pumps” challenge from Modest Mom Blog and am amazed at how well I’ve done. I’ve been thinking about other changes as well, seeing as how just changing one or two things has made a big difference, but wasn’t sure how it would go. This is a good way to hold me accountable.

  10. This is a great idea! I found a recipe for green smoothies that you can freeze ahead of time. This has made SUCH a huge difference for me because I hate dealing with the work and mess of making smoothies. It isn’t the best tasting thing, although it isn’t disgusting, but I feel really good about myself after I eat it. Good luck with your challenge…I will look forward to reading updates!

    • Thats kind of what I did. I had some kale and some bananas that were going to go bad so I just made up a couple of little baggies and threw them in the freezer and you are so right- it makes it soo much easier! What is your smoothie recipe?

    • I am so glad you are joining us Melinda! I was laughing becasue I was glad that someone elses list looked as long as mine! But I think it is always good to have goals to and work towards a better version of ourselves!
