How to Make Healthy Pizza Sauce

Healthy pizza sauce? Yes!

You better believe if I am going to eat something at least once a week then I am going to try to tweak it and make healthier for my family and I. Why? So I can eat more, I mean we can eat more of it of course!!

In this post we will talk about several ways to make your own healthy pizza sauce. A few little tweaks is all it takes.

Healthy Pizza Sauce

Healthy pizza sauceI have shared a really easy and cheap basic pizza sauce recipe on my blog before. Click here if you need that recipe. Or use your own recipe.  Making healthy pizza sauce is as simple as adding some  things to the sauce and stirring it in. My suggestion is start with very small amounts and work your way up to larger amounts. Taste testing can be fun!

Here are some things to add, pick one and give it a try.

– Other diced veggies (you know what your family will like and wont like so be creative)

– Nutritional Yeast – what is nutritional yeast? click here to find out

-white bean puree  ( just throw some white beans in a food processor and process until smooth)

I need to mention here that I wish the above  was my brilliant idea but it was not! I learned about adding purees to meals to add nutritional strength to foods through a great book called The Sneaky Chef.
