Peaches and Cream Smoothie

This delicious peach smoothie reminds me of a peach cobbler. It is one of my favorite smoothie recipes to enjoy any time of day! Trust me, if you like peaches- you will love this treat! The frozen banana gives it this really nice creamy texture, almost like ice cream.

My advice with smoothies is starting out with a base recipe like this one below. Then after you figure out what you like (the amounts, type of milk you use, etc), then try adding in some nutritional boosters to your smoothies to make them healthier.

Vanilla Chai Shake- click through to read how to make this tasty and healthier version of a Vanilla Chai Drink!

These are some of my favorite smoothie nutritional boosters-

  • Add chia seeds. Start with a small amount and work your way up to more. These amazing little seeds will turn into little jelly-like balls if they sit in a liquid too long so I like to use this type that is already ground up and won’t change the texture of my smoothie.
  • Add in a superior plant-based whole food protein powder. I’m super picky about what goes in my families bodies so I went with this one. This short video explains the benefits and why it’s the only one I use with my kids. Adding in great protein powder is a simple way to increase flavor and make a smoothie a balanced and complete meal.
  • Add in a veggie. There are some vegetables like carrots, frozen cubed yellow squash, and pumpkin that you can add small amounts of to your smoothies and never know it’s there. Be aware of color changes and start small and work your way up to more. Of course, you can always add things like spinach and kale but be aware of the color change that can happen when adding those. If you are just starting out with adding in smoothies to your diet, chugging down a lovely strawberry smoothie might be hard if it’s gray (which it turns when you add spinach).
  • Switch your milk. If you are used to using cows milk in your everyday life then start off making smoothies with it.  Slowly start replacing the cow’s milk in your smoothie recipe with a non-dairy milk like almond milk or coconut milk.  Switching to a non-dairy milk not only typically adds more nutrition to a smoothie but it removes the cholesterol and other parts of milk that are not the best for you.
  • Add in some good fat. Adding an avocado is a great way to feed your body and brain!

Now onto the smoothie recipe!

  1. Hi there – I have just joined the juicing and smoothie world and love the idea of this delicious peach flavored drink. Had never thought of adding spices to jazz up my juices but will now…I bet apple pie spice makes everything taste better. I try to track Weight Watchers points as much as possible and just wondered how almond milk compares in points value to skim milk. Thank you for sharing this scrumptious sounding recipe. I will be trying it at home!

    • Thank you for sharing that with us! There are several types of nondairy milk you can try out. I have had to try a couple of different brands and flavors to find the one that my whole family likes. Good luck and if I can help in any other way please let me know! I love to help!
