Plant Based Diet Starter Guide E-Book Review and Giveaway!

I was given a complimentary copy of the Plant Based Diet Starter Guide E book   in exchange for an honest review of the product. This post does contain affiliate links so if you purchase this product then I receive a small commission that I use towards the upkeep of this blog. I will always be upfront and honest with you about these things! Now that I have the legal stuff covered let’s get to the good stuff!

I have always wanted to write an e-book about how to really start your journey towards being plant based. I thought of all the things I would want to include in the e-book.  I would talk about what exactly is a plant based diet, what foods to avoid and why, how to do a meal plan, different ways to ease into this lifestyle, tips on dealing with family and your kids, and a long list of other things just like that. My problem is that I do not have the time to really put into an e-book right now.  I have been really wishing I could get something together so when people ask how to get started I could just send them link and it would just be so much easier.

My solution came from a new friend I met a couple of months ago. If you have followed me at all you have seen me talk about her and her recipes. My favorite recipe is the Easy Mexican Crock-pot Casserole Meal that I used to create two other meals from. Her name is Holly Yzquierdo and her blog is called My Plant Based Family.  When I saw that she had finished her e-book about just the kind of thing I had been looking for I was super stoked. When she let me do a review I was even more excited because I knew I could share it with my readers.

Holly’s description of The Plant Based Diet Starter Guide- In this book I leave the science to the experts and focus on how you can make changes and transition toward a plant-based diet. The book discusses reading labels, shopping, cleaning out your pantry/refrigerator, meal planning and much more. There is also a chapter devoted to transitioning your family to a plant-based diet. I’ve also included many of My Plant-Based Family’s “Reader Favorite” Recipes.

This e-book gives you so much practical knowledge and tips on how to really get started in your journey with a plant based diet.  She covers all the topics she says above and so much more. I love her approach with this e-book. It is all about finding what really works for you and your family.  She will tell you her approach and then leave it to your discretion on how you decide to handle it.

If you are looking for a way to get yourself started in a healthy direction this year then this is the e-book for you to buy!  It is reasonably priced and very user friendly. A clear table of contents makes finding what you need or you are interested in very easy.

Her recipes at the end are all very good. I have been enjoying trying them out over the last couple of days.  My favorite recipe of hers is included in the e-book as well as many other fantastic ones including a very delicious potato soup you make in the crock pot!

This brings me back to the very beginning of this post. I have been looking for an e-book that I could get behind and recommend to people and I finally found one. I liked this e-book so much that I signed up to be an affiliate for it (hence the affiliate links). I am not an affiliate for anything that I have not personally used and enjoyed myself or anything I wouldn’t recommend to my own friends and family.

Now after saying all of this I am really excited to announce that Holly has graciously offered to partner with us and do giveaway of one copy of her new e-book The Plant Based Diet Starter Guide.

Go ahead and enter the giveaway below! The winner will be contacted by email on Friday January 24,2014!

  10. What a wonderful giveaway! I would enjoy reading this book!
Coming from a family where everyone on my mother’s side of the family suffered from diabetes and a paternal side where everyone had high blood pressure, arthritis and high cholesterol, I made it my business to change my diet to a plant-based diet as soon as I was in college and in control of my food intake. Knowledge is power! But planning, organization and commitment is key to living healthy.
My primary motivation is to break the family “curse”–and so my healthy diet is working well for me. I am also motivated by the desire to help others live healthier, so I share recipes and relevant information about living “healthy, green and natural, by design” at my blog UrbanNaturale.com.
    All the best, Deborah
