Pumpkin Milkshake
Pumpkin + Ice Cream +Almond milk = Deliciousness in a cup!
I know it may seem odd to some to be sharing a pumpkin milkshake in fall when everyone else is doing pumpkin lattes and hot chocolates. I do love those, but I really love ice cream!! I dont care what season it is- I will eat ice cream day and night. So for me this was a perfect time to share a pumpkin milkshake! Plus as many of you know- I love a recipe that I can add something that is really good for me into. Pumpkin by the way is really good for you. It is loaded with fiber, iron, Vitamin A & E and reduces inflammation. All great things! I use pumpkin in many of my Secret Agent Recipes. So lets get on to how to enjoy some amazingly good for you pumpkin in a mouth watering milkshake!
There are 3 ways to make this milkshake. I have listed them below-
1. Get yourself some non dairy ice cream ( So Delicious makes an amazing coconut milk ice cream. I am serious- this stuff is soooo good!). Mix a couple scoops of ice cream, 2 Tbsp of pumpkin puree, 1/2 tsp of pumpkin pie spice, and 1 Tbsp of vanilla with a couple of cups of almond milk. Blend it all up in a blender and enjoy!
2. Make your own pumpkin ice cream. This is my favorite way.(I love using the So Delicious ice cream but it is kind of pricey sometimes for my budget ). I use this recipe and I add 2 Tbsp of pumpkin puree, 1/2 tsp of pumpkin pie spice, and 1 Tbsp of vanilla to it. If you dont have an ice cream maker dont worry! You can still do this. It just takes a little planning. Use that same recipe (and add the 2 Tbsp of pumpkin puree, 1/2 tsp of pumpkin pie spice, and 1 Tbsp of vanilla to it) but instead of putting your ingredients in an ice cream machine put them in a Ziploc bag and put it in the freezer. Leave it t in there for a couple of hours.Once it is frozen pretty good take it out of the freezer and let it slightly thaw. You want it just thawed enough so you can break it up a little bit. Put your frozen mixture in your blender with some almond milk and blend away. Add as much almond milk as you need to to make it have that “milkshake” consistency.
3.Make this recipe but instead of the peanut butter and chocolate chips add in 2 Tbsp of pumpkin puree, 1/2 tsp of pumpkin pie spice. This one will have that hint of banana so you may need to add a little more pumpkin pie spice.
Remember pumpkin is good for you so go make yourself one of these milkshakes today!
This is a unique idea. I think I’d love a pumpkin pie shake, cold outside or not! I make that peanut butter and banana one at home, but I think I’d still keep the chocolate chips in because I LOVE pumpkin choc chip cookies!
thats a good point! I bet the chocolate chips would be great in it!
