Purple Martian Smoothie
Do you remember when I told you about my trick for getting kids to drink smoothies? Click here if not. It worked with this one too! Neither one of my older kids would touch a blueberry or kale, but they loved this smoothie. I don’t care how they get it as long as they do!
- This is a little tip on smoothies. When I first started making them I never let them blend long enough so they had bits of fruit and vegetables in them. Both of my kids seem to have aversions to different textures so they did not enjoy any of my smoothies. Now I let them blend for a while and even stop the blender and let it sit for a minute and then blend again. A little extra time blending made all the difference!
Purple Martian Smoothie
- 1 cup kale (stems and ribs removed)
- 1 cup frozen blueberries
- ½ frozen banana
- ½ apple (peeled and cored) *optional
- ¼ cup pineapple
- ¼ cup pineapple juice
- 1 cup almond milk (original flavor, or other non dairy milk of your choice)
Blend everything together until smooth. If you need to add more liquid to not overwork your blender go ahead. Serve and enjoy!
-If you want this smoothie to be sweeter add more juice (apple, or pineapple)
